Flying While Muslim

(All emphases by Always On Watch)

Just in time for the Hajj, which begins on December 29, CAIR, now the legal representative of five of the six praying imams and pursuing an out-of-court settlement, is stirring the pot:
American Muslims making a religious pilgrimage to Mecca are being encouraged to file civil rights complaints if they feel discriminated against by airlines.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), citing what it called the "airport profiling" of six imams removed from a recent flight, yesterday said Muslims traveling this month to the holy site in Saudi Arabia need to be aware of their rights.

"Given the increase in the number of complaints CAIR has received alleging airport profiling of American Muslims, we believe it is important that all those taking part in this year's hajj be aware of their legal and civil rights," said Ibrahim Hooper, CAIR spokesman.
Apparently CAIR has distributed materials specifically delineating how to promote this flying-while-Muslim agenda:
A guide issued by CAIR advises Muslims that "as an airline passenger, you are entitled to courteous, respectful and non-stigmatizing treatment by airline and security personnel."

"You have the right to complain about treatment that you believe is discriminatory," the guide says.

Those treated in a discriminatory manner are advised by CAIR to "ask for the names and ID numbers of all persons involved in the incident. Be sure to write this information down."
CAIR recently held this day-long conference:
On December 9, the Maryland and Virginia chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MD/VA), in cooperation with the D.C. Coordinating Council of Muslim Organizations (DC-CCMO) and the Fairfax Institute, will hold its first annual Imams' media relations conference in Herndon, Va.

The one-day conference is designed to teach Imams, community leaders and activists how to interact effectively with media professionals. Sessions will cover basic media relations skills.
"Basic media relations skills"? And something else, too, including the distribution of materials as to how to intimidate the airlines from following proper security-procedures? According to one airline official,
"You do wonder what the ultimate aim is here [with regard to the six praying imams and CAIR's involvement]; to eliminate a discriminatory practice that does not exist, or is there some other agenda afoot."
The above-cited article in the Washington Times also contains the following with regard to CAIR's possible agenda:
Pilots and air marshals called the incident a "PC probe" to intimidate passengers and crew from reporting suspicious behavior by Muslim passengers and are fearful the incident will set off a domino effect of lawsuits.

Debra Burlingame, whose brother was the pilot of American Airlines Flight 77 that crashed into the Pentagon on September 11, thinks this is a ploy to extort money from the airlines.

"I think CAIR is soliciting complaints, and if they don't get it, they will make it up," said Miss Burlingame, who is also a director for the World Trade Center Memorial Foundation.
Although CAIR likes to promote itself as representative of all or of the majority of American Muslims, such is not the case:
M. Zuhdi Jasser, a Phoenix physician and chairman of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy (AIFD), said the announcement by CAIR "continues the tired stoking of the flames of victimization."

"They are unfortunately exploiting, for purely political reasons, what should be a sacred and purely spiritual story of our faith's annual holy pilgrimage to Mecca," Dr. Jasser said.

"We need new leadership and organizations which use their passions and the bandwidth of the media to lead the ideological fight against radical and political Islam rather than this tired pre-emption of supposed discrimination."

And now, THIS:

Last week Clearchannel radio KFYI Phoenix interviewed Iman Omar (Spokesman for the 6 Imans on a plane, defender of Osama bin Laden)of the East Valley Mosque. After Omar was given the opportunity to spew his propaganda regarding American and Islam, KFYI producer Kate O'Neill brought in Islamic expert Mohammed Saeed to set the record straight. Saeed refuted every detail of the Imam's version of Islam and opined that The Jordanian clerics were out to embarrass the American people by claiming to be "Victims" of racial profiling.

The KFYI phones lit up as Arizonans called in the show to voice their views on the matter. "Get out of our country" was the prevalent view expressed by the outraged citizenry.

The controversy over the interview continued all week as KFYI programs were inundated with phone calls from angry citizens. KFYI should have been extremely pleased with the response. Unfortunately the testosterone-challenged management at the station responded to the success of the interview by having a program director on hand during producer Kate O'Neil's shows.....ready to the pull the plug instantly if O'Neill dared to court further controversy by confronting the issue of the Jihad in America.

On Friday December 1st, the KFYI management fired outspoken Kate O'Neill.

i'd find a way around the discrimination thing by putting a sign up which reads:

"WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE TO ANYONE, FOR ANY REASON"

or:

"PILOTS, FLIGHT CREW AND PASSENGERS ALLERGIC TO EXTREME ISLAM"

or:

"FOR THE PROTECTION OF OUR CREW AND PASSENGERS, DOG HAIR HAS BEEN SPRINKLED ABOUT THE ENTIRE PERIMETER OF THIS AIRPORT"

or:

"BLT'S BEING SERVED TODAY"

or:

"OUR PASSENGERS HAVE TAKEN A VOW TO KILL ANYONE EVEN LOOKING AS THOUGH THEY ARE GOING TO TERRORIZE A PASSENGER ON THIS PLANE"

or:

"MERRY CHRISTMAS"

or:

"GOOD AND PEACEFUL CHANUKAH TO YOU"

It's really tiresome watching our enemies use our own legal system against us, and our elected leaders stand by and let it happen, even perform the "kiss of shame" on the folks who represent the enemy, in the interests of PC, the instant these people scold them for hinting at the truth or allowing security personnel to do their jobs. I'd be willing to bet that CAIR and the ACLU score yet another victory in the damaging of our security -- notice how the "Flying Imam" event occurred less than 2 months before the Democrats swear in a majority on the Hill.

Nanc, the only problem with a Muslim airline is that all their planes would crash directly into buildings, bridges, etc right after take-off.

What we really need are some tough judges who know the stakes (ain't gonna happen), all the way to the top, who will simply dismiss these discrimination cases right off the bat, and yes, have "We reserve the right to refuse service..." signs. After all, other businesses of infinitely less risk factor can have them and enforce them. In Nevada, a casino can bar you from the premises, legally, without having to provide a reason, on the scene or in court. If it were up to me, we would make it so difficult for a Muslim to board a plane or even get on Amtrak that they'd keep the ACLU and CAIR tied up in court forever, and every case would be dismissed directly after the plaintiffs' attorneys presented their cases.

No matter how fed up they got, I'd wager that all we'd hear would be complaints about discrimination, yet still not hear more than one or two voices of so-called "peaceful Muslims" raised against terrorism.

Thanks for that link AOW...I have asserted from day one that CAIR had orchestrated the entire event.
CAIR is waging jihad. They may not be shooting bullets but they are waging war nonetheless.
We all know what CAIR's ultimate goal is.
To obtain that goal, step one is to gain a foothold in America. We allowed this by granting political asylum. Dearborn has the largest Iraqi population outside of Iraq.
Step two is to get "special treatment" for Muslims.
If any other group had committed this sham at the airport they would still be in jail. CAIR uses charges of bigotry to silence and opposition.
They want to use sharia law to settle civil matters. They want women to be able to get drivers licenses while fully veiled. They want prayer rooms at airports. They are constantly pushing and demanding special status.
They use every right guaranteed by the Constitution, especially free-speech, while silencing others. They want all their rights but with none of the responsibilities of living in a free country.

CAIR has taken up in the past, with regard to discrimination from the airlines. From this source:

Another incident of interest occurred during Shahin's tenure at ITC. On June 13, 2003, the FBI arrested Muhammad Al-Qudhai'een, who was active at the mosque, and transported him to Virginia to testify as a material witness before a federal grand jury investigating 9/11.

According to the 9/11 Commission Report, Al-Qudhai'een and Hamdan al Shalawi, a fellow Saudi, were removed from an America West flight after engaging in what the flight crew considered suspicious activity. The crew asserted that Al-Qudhai'een had twice attempted to open the plane's cockpit door. After 9/11, FBI agents in Phoenix considered whether the incident had been a "dry run" for the attacks. The 9/11 Commission noted that Al Shalawi had reportedly trained in Afghan terrorist camps in November 2000, learning how to conduct "Khobar Towers"-type bombing attacks.

The America West incident attracted national attention in 1999. In 2000, the two Saudis filed a lawsuit alleging racial discrimination by the airline. "What happened to us was based on racial and religious discrimination," al Shalawi told the Arizona Republic. CAIR hired the Saudis' attorney for them, and urged a boycott of the airline. America West won the lawsuit. Al-Qudhai'een was later deported to Saudi Arabia.

Crusader,
CAIR is waging jihad. They may not be shooting bullets but they are waging war nonetheless.

Jihad does come in different forms as its basic meaning is "struggle." We have militant jihad and cultural jihad (aka Islamification). In many ways, the latter is the more dangerous.

The concept of freedom of speech is not Koranic. Nevertheless, CAIR is taking the tack of freedom of speech to undermine voices which voice dissent to their agenda. As Brigitte Gabriel has said, "using our freedoms against us."

CAIR is working toward becoming masters at manipulating our legal system. Why can't most people see that!

AOW - The real purpose of this stunt is a strategy known as legal Islamism. The goal is to soften up the American people to accept the End of Racial Profiling Act that has been languishing in Congress.

Rep. John Conyers of Michigan, whose district includes one of the largest Muslim populations in the country introduced the bill in 2004 and 2005. Keith Ellison with the infamous Nancy Pelosi who called herself a "proud" cosponsor of the act in 2004 are supposed to hurry it through.

This one requires a letter-writing campaign. Notice that the imams behaviors coincided with the Haj and the Christmas and Hannakah holidays, a time when most people are celebrating and distracted from the holidays, a perfect time, if not to create, but to sneak a vote on this kind of legislation as even after the beginning of the new Congress, most still will be distracted.

AOW: Here's further analysis of the End of Racial Profiling Act:

"On the surface this bill appears to be a waste of paper. They are attempting to pass legislation whose sole purpose is to enforce prior legislation. A little redundant dont you think?

But buryed (sic) in this legislation is what I consider the true reason.

(d) ATTORNEYS’ FEES- In any action or proceeding to enforce this title against any governmental unit, the court may allow a prevailing plaintiff, other than the United States, reasonable attorneys’ fees as part of the costs, and may include expert fees as part of the attorney’s fee.

The Republican held House passed the Public Expression of Religion Act to prevent groups like the ACLU from collecting huge sums of money from both federal and local government (both Pelosi and Conyers voted against PERA). This bill has not passed the Senate as of yet, however with the Democrats taking control it is unlikely PERA will pass. Now with this new act, which is likely to pass, the ACLU and similar orginizations will have a new way to exthort money from our government.

Let’s take a look at how simple it would be to “prove” racial profiling.

(c) NATURE OF PROOF- Proof that the routine investigatory activities of law enforcement agents in a jurisdiction have had a disparate impact on racial or ethnic minorities shall constitute prima facie evidence of a violation of this title."

Eleanor,
I read all of the links that you provided. And I gasped at each one!

This is legal jihad! CAIR and the left will team up. Can they accomplish their goal of "ending racial profiling"? Possibly, unless the American people wake up in large numbers. Most Americans are more concerned about the next version of PlayStation than they are about the erosion of our Constitution and of our culture.

Thank you so much for the above information. If I can get my act together, I'll post it at my new site.
